Heel Pain: Causes, Symptoms, and Effective Treatment Solutions

 

 

Heel Pain Definition

Heel pain is a common foot issue that can significantly affect your daily activities and quality of life. One of the most common symptoms is intense heel pain in the morning or after long periods of rest, often described as a burning or aching sensation. Swelling, redness, and tenderness in the heel area are also frequent signs. Some individuals may experience pain that worsens with walking, running, or standing for long periods.

Heel pain relief typically involves determining the cause through a thorough clinical  evaluation then determining the best treatment options.

Examples of heel paij treatment may include a combination of rest, ice, stretching and using proper heel pain treatment methods like custom orthotics or supportive shoes. Its important to have a biomechanical and gait assessment to assess for alignment problems that may be causing your pain. For persistent issues, treatments such as physical therapy, heel pain splints, or even surgery might be recommended, depending on the severity.
